Silver Squares

We had a lot of wonderful dancing this summer! We entered June with the fun and festive Hawaiian Dance on June 1st, our Flag Day Dance on June 8thand the Disney Day Dance on June 15th. Many members of our club dressed up as Mickey Mouse, Minnie and even Pluto! We then ended with a Silver Squares Picnic on June 29th. The picnic was a huge success! There were only 4 hot dogs left and, of course, not a scrap of other food. It is always amazing how much we eat!! Then we danced!!

July and August are always busy months and square dancing is no different. We started off with an Ice Cream Social on July 13th and ended our most fun Apron Dance on July 27th. Our Crazy Hat Dance was on August 10th and end with our 50’s dance celebrating Elvis and drinking Root Beer Floats.

Looking ahead to the Fall, we are sponsoring a Fall Festival on September 21st where we will provide a FREE DANCE and FREE PIZZA for any member of any club. This is our way of celebrating square dancing in our community.

On October 5th, we have our amazing Soup and Sandwich Potluck at noon. Our Charlie Brown and his Gang dance is October 19th and our Halloween dance is on October 26th. Don’t miss this dance!! Almost everyone dresses up and we vote on the best costume.

November is our time to be grateful for our families and our country. We celebrate our vets on Veterans Day on November 9th and celebrate our square dance family with a Thanksgiving Potluck feast on November 16th.

Our committee has worked hard to put together a calendar full of fun, laughter and lots of dancing. Make sure you check out squaredancingrochester.org for any upcoming event details or any changes. Look under the Flyer tab and you will find our 2026-2027 calendar with individual flyers for each event we hold. There is lots of opportunity to dance. Remember that we dance weekly so dust off your dancing shoes and come over to Silver Squares!
