A–Listers

About Us

A–Listers is a caller run teaching A2 club that dances Friday nights throughout the year. Tips alternate between current class level and club A2. Classes start when there is sufficient interest.

A–Listers was briefly known as Happy Squares. The town of Pittsford has square dancing as part of their senior citizen physical fitness activity. Even though this activity is not part of the Federation, the Federation has permitted it to be listed on the schedule page. This is because it is a good place for any senior who is taking beginning square lessons through any of the Federation clubs to come and get extra and generally more individualized practice. These dances are listed on the schedule page under the moniker of Happy Squares.

Welcome to the first edition of the A–Lister’s club news. Friday night sessions were started as simply the most convenient night to teach A1/A2 to potential Shamrock Square dancers. Since it wasn’t a “club”, the moniker of Happy Squares was reused for Federation membership and insurance purposes. Several of the dancers have requested that Friday nights continue so we’re turning it into a club and the newly adopted club name is A–Listers. The intention is to go year round, but with the Federation summer dances on Friday nights, and with holiday and summer trips, we will not dance several nights during the summer so we’ll keep the schedule page as up to date as we can.
